HEY, I’M WARREN,

AND YOU’RE PROBABLY WONDERING HOW I GOT HERE

Why We Dine on Dimes

As a former Athletic Trainer at Yale University who quit and started over, risk-taking is second nature, and so is penny dime pinching.

The year was 2015 and I just graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in Athletic Training, one of the worst-paying career fields out there. Fortunately, I landed a job down the road at the prestigious Yale University as an athletic trainer, in charge of the health and well-being of their track and field team. So how much was I raking in at the wealthiest school on Earth? A whopping $20,000.

After a year, I did the best thing one can do…quit. Tight on cash, I eventually landed another job in the field for more money, eventually working my way up to earn a decent wage. But when Covid hit, I did the only logical thing a 29-year-old who hates his career would do… quit again, this time for good. I would blow through my savings and rack up debt as I built my resume for the career change.

Over time, I developed a habit of saving money in the kitchen. I wasn’t quite penny-pinching and eating ramen every night (terrible health comes with a hidden cost), but I wasn’t eating gourmet meals either. This middle ground led to the name Dine on Dimes, where you can eat quality meals without

Collin, a native of Midlothian, VA, is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (2022) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (2017) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

As a former collegiate baseball player graduating from Christopher Newport University in 2017, he developed a strong passion for human performance. From 2017-2022 Collin pursued collegiate sports performance roles with his most recent stops being at Western Carolina University, the University at Buffalo, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

I was in Collin’s wedding, so yes, my opinion of him is bias, but he’s one of the best men I know. His passion for making people better is exemplified every day, and a big reason why we became friends many years ago. In sports performance, especially with nurtrion, Collin is my first and only resource I need when it comes to eating right in the kitchen. As someone who has been a client of his, I can testify that his strength and conditioning programs as well as nutrition plans are second to none.

After graduating from Quinnipiac University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Sports Medicine, health wasn’t just a hobby, it was my career. From Yale University, to Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Va, I was responsible for keeping athletes of all ages healthy.

This job taught me how to eat meals on the go, how to budget, and how to keep meals tasty so I wouldn’t go on stress eating benders…ok maybe I went on a few but that’s ok.

I eventually left the world of Sports Medicine to pursue a career in content creation, where I now run YouTube channels for businesses and full-time YouTube creators.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the goal of Dine On Dimes?

SHRINK THAT GROCERY BILL! I was taught buying groceries helps you save money compared to eating out. But why does EVERYTHING feel expensive? The main issue: you’re spending too much for one recipe. Dine on Dimes will show you cheap and healthy meals where ingredients can be stretched across multiple meals, so you can cut your waste and pocket the savings!

How to start as a food blogger?

Honestly, this is just a fun side project of mine. I currently don’t make a dime (THE CROWD GOES WILD WITH LAUGHTER) and I spend time and money to run the site. But it’s a really fun way for me to connect with my friends and family. If you like cooking just do it, even if nobody reads your stuff you’ll have your own digital cookbook with your favorite recipes

Do you have grocery store meal lists?

Not currently, but that is in the works. We’ll feature $100, $200, and $300 weekly grocery lists where all ingredients get used throughout the week. These will be put together by Collin who is a professional performance coach and nutrition guru!

Cooking is about passion, so it may look slightly temperamental in a way that it’s too assertive to the naked eye.
